Trainee Recruitment Consultant

  • Starting salary of £22,000 per year. Your basic salary is reviewed every 3 months in your first year.
  • Office based position in Hinckley with free parking and an early finish on Friday.

As a Recruitment Consultant for this agency, you are responsible for developing a profitable recruitment desk in the engineering sector. You will be trained to work as a fee-earning recruiter that specialises in recruiting maintenance engineers. The workplace is office based in Hinckley, and you are expected to dress for business in working hours. You will be working in an open-plan recruitment sales office alongside the Owners, Managers and team of 13 recruiters. The culture here is sales-focused and you are incentivised to deliver results with high commissions, prizes, milestone rewards, and memorable team events.

You also need to understand the reality of what being successful looks like in your day-to-day duties as a Recruitment Consultant specialising in recruiting maintenance engineers. You are required to make lots of pro-active telephone calls to candidates about jobs, and their career plans. You are also required to make lots of telephone calls to potential clients about candidates you are representing.(and the solutions you provide). Most of the emails and messages you send out will be trying to arrange calls with candidates and clients.

The reality is hard-work, with rejection, and rude people. You are competing to represent clients and candidates against 100's of other recruiters. All contacting the same pool of people, for the same purpose. Accelerating your salary and earning big bonuses is down to your talent and your work ethic. This is not a get-rich-quick career move. It's a graft. You have to build a client and candidate network through hard-work to get the rewards.
